A Halloween party game where the room tries to make you flinch

One person holds their phone perfectly still for 25 seconds. Everyone else has those 25 seconds to scare them into moving. Whoever flinches does a forfeit. It is free, it runs in the browser on the phones you already have, and one link gets the whole party in.

Open a room

How to run it at a Halloween party

  1. One person opens dontmove.fun/party.html, presses PLAY WITH FRIENDS and shows the QR code. Everyone scans it or taps the link. Up to 10 people fit in a room.
  2. Pick a forfeit for the loser: one of the Halloween ones below, or any of the 30 free forfeit ideas the game deals.
  3. Turn the lights down. The person holding the phone keeps a thumb on the screen and the dot inside the circle while an arrow asks for slow tilts.
  4. Everyone else attacks. The host plays sabotage cards on the holder's phone: a flashbang, a haptic strike that shakes it, EYES OFF to black the screen out, and one fake failure per round. Watchers press SCARE THEM, which warns the holder that something is coming without saying what, and throw emoji at their screen. The room can scream as much as it likes.
  5. A jerk, a drift out of the circle, a missed tilt or a lifted thumb, and the forfeit is theirs. Last the 25 seconds and whoever set it does it instead. Then the phone moves on.

One house rule: nobody touches the person holding the phone. Scares are for the eyes and ears.

13 Halloween forfeits

Like every forfeit in the game, these embarrass the loser and nobody else, need no drink, and are over by the end of the night. Skip any that is not safe or not funny for the person it lands on.

Why it works on Halloween

A scare makes people flinch, and in DON'T MOVE a flinch is the whole game: the phone's motion sensor sees a sudden jerk and ends the round on the spot. So the room is not interrupting the game when it screams; it is playing it. The person holding still is the only one who has to be quiet.

On your own there are also levels, a daily round that is the same for everyone, and dares you can send a friend with your time to beat. How to play.
